Students get their groove on for Stockport Academy Dance Show

Stockport Academy’s annual Summer Dance Show brought the house down in usual fashion on Monday evening.

The foot-tapping, hip shaking spectacular wowed its audience for an hour and a half in the main hall, featuring over 80 students from Year 7 right through to Sixth Form.

Many of the students had warmed up for the production by spending the weekend at a residential dance trip to Conway, where they fine-tuned their dances and choreographed their moves for the show.

There was a wide variety of dance styles on display, including everything from Bollywood and tap to street and ballet. At the end of the performances, trophies were given to the ‘Dancer of the Year’ in each year group.

Dance Teacher Mrs Campbell said: “This year’s Dance Show was the best one yet and I am so proud of our talented group of dancers for putting on such a wonderful performance.

"Thank you to everyone who was involved in the production and also to those who came down on the night to support the school - we can't wait for next year's show already!"
