Stockport Academy photography competition is picture perfect

The winners of Stockport Academy’s first ever photography competition were revealed today.

Over 270 entries were received across student, staff and parent categories since the start of term, with the overall winner – Laura Taylor in Year 8 – receiving over 400 votes for her entry that was taken during the X-Elle Awards ceremony in London last month.

Mr McNulty won the staff category, while Joanne Street won the parent category. Other student winners were Ella Hobson in Year 10, Kim Kelly in Year 8 and Lucas Maybury in Sixth Form.

All winners received a £25 Amazon voucher for their efforts, while Laura won an iPod Touch.

Head of Sixth Form Ms Appleby, who organised the competition, said: “We were blown away by the quality of entries and have uncovered some really talented photographers throughout the competition.

“Well done to everyone who entered and especially our winners!”
