Students and staff spent the day celebrating World Book Day with a variety of literature-based activities.
Everyone was invited to enter a fancy dress competition, with a Kindle on offer for the best-dressed. This title was awarded to Nimrah Ilyas in the student category who made an excellent effort with her Maleficent costume, while Ms Brown was awarded best-dressed member of staff after dressing up as Oliver.
Elsewhere, in the library, Mr Clarke organised a golden ticket competition, with students given a minute to find golden tickets hidden in books to win a prize. There were also literature-based puzzles and book vouchers given out to students.
Executive Principal Mr McCarron said: “The atmosphere around the Academy on World Book Day is always great and this year was no exception. So many people made fantastic efforts with their costumes and we all had real fun celebrating the world of literature.”
