Stockport Academy cheerleaders’ achievement worth shouting about

Our cheerleading squad made their competitive debut over the weekend, achieving an excellent result in the process.

The Stockport Academy Rising Stars took part in the SchoolFest tournament at Kingsway School, with nine of our students working together to perform a single routine.

Their combination of impressive lifts and stunts clearly made an impression on the judges who ranked them third overall, meaning the girls left with a stunning trophy to take back to the academy!

Head of Performing Arts Mrs Campbell said: “For the girls to go to a cheerleading competition for the first time and come back with a trophy is an amazing achievement and is a reflection of all the hard work they have put into this enrichment. They have all made me so proud.”

Cheerleading enrichment is currently looking to recruit more members. The club takes place during Period 6 every Tuesday and is open to all students.
