An Academy That Inspires

Stockport Academy is a free school providing local students with an inspiring and fulfilling education.  Stockport Academy serves the Cheadle Heath, Edgeley, Adswood, Bridge Hall and Cale Green areas of Stockport, although we encourage prospective students from all areas of the borough.

The mission statement at Stockport Academy is to bring out the "best in everyone" - students, staff and parents.

With a wide variety of extension and enrichment activities, students are encouraged to discover their own talents and develop their knowledge and skills.  Activities include a science and engineering club, drama clubs, choral and music groups, a games club and most sporting activities and clubs (including the use of a multi-gym and swimming pool).

The United Learning Trust sponsors Stockport Academy.  ULT was established to create a family of academies that provide outstanding education.  It was formed in 2002 as a subsidiary of the United Church Schools Trust, which has been running high-quality schools in the UK for over 125 years.  ULT offers the ability of an organisation with a long-term commitment to education in this country and the experience to run successful schools.

ULT is the largest provider of academies across the UK.  Its academies are inclusive and welcoming schools where students of all faiths, backgrounds and abilities are valued and respected.

As a member of the ULT family, Stockport Academy shares the objective of developing every student into a balanced and articulate individual with the intellectual freedom to be creative; the confidence to initiate; the resilience to cope with adversity; the strength to lead; the compassion to serve others; and the motivation to achieve a lifelong love of learning.
