HISTORY (GCSE)

Key Features

We study the Modern World 1900 - 1939 and this will include:

  • International Relations 1919 - 1939
  • Germany 1918 - 1945
  • Britain Before the First World War

 

Controlled assessment of one of four options.

 

How will I be assessed?

There will be two examination papers.

Paper 1:    2 hours     45% of the marks.

Paper 2:    1½ hours   30% of the marks.

Controlled assessment - 25% of marks.

The History course is stimulating and rewarding for those who take an interest in the study of the past and are prepared to work hard.  A variety of source materials, television programmes, DVDs, films, and computer programmes are used to develop your skills of decision making, opinion forming, use of information, formulation of argument and debate, clear thinking and memory, all of which are applicable in many careers and occupations and enable you to develop transferrable skills.
