Key Stage 4 - Fast Track

MATHS - Fast track Mathematics option

This will be available to students achieving a Level 7 or above in their End of Year 9 Assessment.

This Option will enable students to gain two extra qualifications in Maths in addition to their core Maths. One GCSE - Statistics - will be taken in Y10 and the second qualification ( bridges GCSE and AS level ) - Additional Maths - will be taken in Y11.

The Maths Option will run as follows:

Year 10:    GCSE Statistics

This course explores statistical methods and techniques in much greater depth than possible on the GCSE Mathematics course. The course will be assessed at the end of Year 10 by examination and a controlled coursework assessment. The use and understanding of statistics is a facet of modern life and useful in any chosen career.

Year 11:  Additional Mathematics

This is a course which offers a bridge between GCSE and AS Level Mathematics. It is particularly useful for those considering Mathematics beyond GCSE. It is assessed by examination only.
