RE

Religious Education at Stockport Academy is an integral element of the curriculum experience of all students. RE is taught as a discrete subject within the Humanities faculty and enjoys a dedicated subject base.

The philosophy of RE at Stockport Academy is that it contributes to the development of the whole child and promotes the development of a wide range of transferable skills such as  speaking and listening, enquiry as well as the development of personal qualities such as tolerance and empathy.  

RE at Stockport Academy follows the Stockport Locally Agreed Syllabus and while Christian teaching is at the heart of the subject, the teaching reflects and celebrates all expressions of faith and aspires towards inclusivity for all students.
