Academy Receives Eco-Schools Award

 

Stockport Academy has received the bronze Eco-Schools award, recognising its contribution to becoming a sustainable and eco-friendly school. 
 
The award comes after students participated in Switch Off Fortnight, where the academy's Eco-Committee promoted energy efficiency by ensuring electrical items were switched off at the end of each academy day. 

 

In addition, the Committee carried out an environmental survey and supported the development of an action plan. The academy's plans for its very own eco-garden are also well underway, with structural work set to start shortly.

 

The academy is aiming to achieve the ultimate Eco-Schools award - the Green Flag - in the near future.
