Music

Below are brief descriptions of all the Enrichment & Study Club activities taking place in music:

Rap Club

A musical vocal club that focuses on the genre of hip hop and rap. The
students will be able to learn the techniques of rap singing and write their
own lyrics to backing tracks.

Academy Glee Club

This vocal singing group is similar to the programme Glee. The
students are to work as an ensemble and change songs so that they are current.
The students will learn how to harmonise vocally whilst having fun.

Samba Band

A drumming ensemble that looks at the history and the instruments of carnival
music. The students will learn about the various samba rhythms before creating
their own samba piece.

Wind Band

This is a select group that already play woodwind or brass to a grade 2
standard. The group will look at different genres and learn how to play as an
ensemble.  Also how to follow a conductor
when reading music. This focuses on musicianship.

Recorder Club

A musical ensemble for all abilities. From beginners to experienced
players. The recorder is a versatile instrument. The students learn how to play
the recorder and read notation with the addition of learning the theory of music.

Upper School Vocal Club

Ensemble vocal group for years 10-13.

Practice rooms are available for booking at lunch and after school for any budding pop/rock bands to rehearse.
