Amazing Arrabella Raises £1,000 With Sponsored Head Shave

One of our students has gone a cut above the rest in her efforts to make a positive difference to others during lockdown – by shaving off all of her hair for charity.

Year 7 student Arrabella had pledged to lose her locks if she raised sponsorship of £1,000 for Cancer Research UK. She finally went through with it after finally hitting her fundraising target.

Arrabella, whose hair was an impressive 14 inches long beforehand, said: “I have wanted to raise some money for Cancer Research UK for some time. Unfortunately, I lost an uncle last year to cancer and my dad was fortunate enough to beat it a couple of years ago. I have seen first-hand how cancer can change both people and lives.

“I really wanted to raise a thousand pounds and with some donations still to come in, it looks like I will make it. I am surprised, but grateful with the donations people have sent in.

My family has been very supportive of my choice, sharing links to my JustGiving page on their social media. Now that I have gone through with it, I feel great and happy I did it.”

Stockport Academy Principal Mrs McCann said: “We strive to offer our students an Education with Character and Arrabella’s amazing achievement is the absolute embodiment of that ambition. We are so proud of her dedication, resilience and passion to support those who need it the most.”
