Holiday Masterclass For Students On Y8 Enterprise Day

Our Year 8 students completed their Enterprise day, which involved the task of working as a team to create a professional holiday company from scratch.

Enterprise is a key component of our Education with Character at Stockport Academy, supporting students in developing their Future Me skills including problem solving, financial awareness, planning and strategising and working as a team.

As part of the day, they:

· Selected a destination of choice

· Chose an appropriate aircraft

· Selected preferred accommodation type

· Sold Holidays to travel agents

· Went through the decision making process of a real travel company

· Created an airline uniform and company brochure

· Planned and delivered a business presentation

Prizes were awarded throughout the day to reward those who excelled in each task.

Mr Lewis, who leads our Young Enterprise group and also organised the day, said: "Our Year 8s really threw themselves into the activities of the day and reaped the rewards as a result. It was fantastic to see them work together and out of their comfort zone to create some really solid business ideas that they could explain clearly."
