Students star on track and field for Sports Day

Our annual Sports Day was a success once again, thanks to the superb weather and some inspiring performances.

The whole lower school was involved in activities, which began in the morning with field events such as shot put and triple jump, as well as the traditional ‘welly fling’.

After lunch, everybody went out to the running track for the sprints and longer distance races, before the day ended with the ever-popular staff race.

Overall, it was Ms Goddard’s form (8RGO) who won the most points throughout the day and was crowned Sports Day champions. In individual year groups, Mr McNulty’s form (7NMN) came out on top in Year 7, Ms Lunt’s form (9HLU) won in Year 9 and Mr McCarthy’s class (10MMC) finished 1st in Year 10.

Head of PE Mr Sumner said: “We had such a great day today and it was wonderful to see such a friendly, yet competitive spirit throughout the school. Congratulations to everyone who competed.”
