Students ready for the next adventure after A Level results

After a long wait, our students picked up their A Level results yesterday – and there was plenty to be celebrated!

Lucas Maybury was one of several students who achieved the aim of securing a place at a prestigious Russell Group university. He found out he was going to study Computer Science at Sheffield University after picking up an A in Computer Science, an A in Maths and a B in Further Maths.

Perhaps the most inspiring story of the morning was that of Philip Cullen. Philip was forced to postpone his first year studies after being diagnosed with cancer, however after successfully battling the disease – and experiencing a further scare earlier this year - he returned triumphantly to pick up an A in Biology, a B in Maths and a B in Physics.

Philip, like Lucas, is also heading to a Russell Group university – and was over the moon to receive confirmation of his place to study Biology at Manchester University.

Assistant Principal Ms Appleby said: “Exam results days are always emotional affairs and I am so pleased and proud of all of our students who have reaped the rewards of their hard work. We all wish them the best of luck for the future and expect great things as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.”
