Crime and Safety Awareness Day 28th March 2014

On 28th March Year 10 students found out about prison life during a day of workshops delivered by the No Way Trust.

Students spent the day moving around a carousel of workshops which included a talk by the Prison Service, a visit from an ex-offender talking about the harsh realities of crime and prison life and talks from visitors on drugs and Internet Safety.  Students were also encouraged to talk part in role play activity in a Street Scene workshop.

The activities and talks by professionals really highlighted the consequences of anti-social behaviour and its impact on local communities.  Students especially enjoyed the talk by an ex-offender and a visit to the replica prison cell which was parked in the student playground.

Many thanks to Stockport Homes for their financial support in funding the Crime and Safety Awareness Day for our students.

The No Way Trust is a registered charity which runs a programme entitled "Prison Me! No-Way!"  For further information about the No Way Trust please visit their website www.pmnw.co.uk
