Stockport Academy Gaming Club play their way onto CBBC

Members of our Gaming Club are to be featured on national television to review a new games console.

Five students were invited to Media City to take part in filming for CBBC’s Newsround, after researchers heard about our after-school Gaming Club.

They spent several hours trying out the new device before comparing it with rival games console. A film crew then asked them questions about their thoughts on the experience.

Science Teacher Mr MacInnes, who runs Gaming Club, said: “This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for our students and they took it with both hands.

“They were a credit to themselves and the academy and I can’t wait to see them on my television screen!”

Year 8 student Harry Cox was one of those to attend. He said: “The visit to Media City was so cool and everything I dreamed it would be. We really enjoyed it and it was great to try out a brand new console.”

The feature aired on Monday 20th March - watch it below
