School Counsellor

Hello I am Michelle La Mattina, the school counsellor based at Stockport Academy.  Counselling can help with anxiety, low mood, body image, sexuality, bereavement, self confidence and self esteem, anger or any worries students have.  It is a safe place for students to express their thoughts and feelings without being judged.  For students, problems may feel like a confusing jigsaw.  In counselling we can sort the jigsaw pieces into a picture that makes sense to them.  Students can self refer themselves to counselling by speaking to their pastoral manager or attend the daily drop in sessions.
