At KS3 all students study either French or Spanish, some students will study both. The topics covered in KS3 are:
· Self and family
· Hobbies/ Free time
· Where I live
· Food and drink
· Healthy living
· Jobs and future plans
Students are taught key grammar structures throughout KS3 to help them understand how language is formed. They also learn about the cultural aspects of French and Spanish speaking countries.
In both KS3 and KS4 there is an opportunity every year to travel abroad with the MFL department to experience overseas culture first hand.
At KS4 students can either opt for French or Spanish, or both if they are talented linguists. We follow the AQA specification, details can be found here:
