Student Rewards

Rewards at Stockport Academy

At Stockport Academy, we celebrate positivity, hard work and achievement through a rewards system that helps every student feel valued and motivated. From earning House Points to spending them in our Summit Shop, students are recognised for their effort, dedication and contributions to school life.

We also shine a spotlight on exceptional classwork through our Work of the Week postcards, which can be exchanged for weekly themed prizes — with an extra treat available for those who collect one from every subject.

Our Student Rewards Charter ensures students who consistently meet our expectations earn Bronze, Silver or Gold awards each term, unlocking certificates, badges and exciting reward experiences.

Use the dropdown menu below to find out more about each initiative and how students can get involved.

The Summit Shop

Situated by our student entrance, the Summit Shop opens for business every half term for students to cash in their House Points! Students can spend their HPs on everything from sweets and treats to house-branded stationery, clothing and even high street vouchers!

Work of The Week

Our teachers will recognise students' best work with WoW (Work of the Week) postcards in every lesson. On a Friday, these postcards can be exchanged at the Summit Shop for prizes! There are different themed prizes each week. If students manage to collect a postcard for every subject then they can claim an extra special reward!

Attendance Rewards

We believe that showing up matters — and we make sure our pupils know it. Our dynamic attendance rewards programme is designed to celebrate consistency, commitment, and character, while reinforcing our core values of Aspiration, Respect, and Community.

Each week, students with 100% attendance are entered into our exciting Pizza Mondays draw, where two lucky winners enjoy a delicious reward to kick off their week. We also host half-termly prize draws for Just Eat and Amazon vouchers, recognising those who maintain excellent attendance over longer periods.

One of our most popular initiatives is the Weekly Attendance Wheel, streamed live every Monday morning. Three names are drawn at random, and the winners must race to find Mr Allen — the fastest gets first pick of the prizes, adding a fun and energetic twist to the celebration.

We also track attendance streaks, rewarding pupils who maintain high attendance over extended periods with special incentives. And for those who love a challenge, our Attendance League brings a competitive edge: forms go head-to-head each week, aiming to climb the leaderboard and knock others out of the running.

These rewards aren’t just about prizes — they’re about building habits of resilience, responsibility, and pride. By recognising and celebrating attendance, we help students understand that every day counts — for their learning, their growth, and their future.

Prizegiving

Prizegiving is one of the highlights of our school calendar, taking place at the end of the year at Stockport Plaza. The event is invite-only and celebrates a wide range of achievements throughout the academic year from attendance and attainment through to individual subject awards, house awards and celebrating those who exemplify the Future Me characteristics!

Sparx Stars

At Stockport Academy, we use Sparx as our dedicated online platform for independent study in mathematics. Sparx provides personalised, adaptive tasks that support each pupil’s progress, reinforcing classroom learning and encouraging consistent practice beyond the school day.

This platform plays a key role in our commitment to Aspiration, helping students take ownership of their learning and strive to become the best version of themselves. By engaging regularly with Sparx, pupils build resilience, deepen understanding, and develop the habits needed for long-term academic success.

To celebrate commitment and excellence, we run our Sparx Stars initiative recognising those pupils who go above and beyond in their independent study. Every half term, we host a Sparx Stars Showcase, where outstanding effort and achievement are rewarded through certificates, prizes, and public recognition.

Sparx is more than just homework it’s a pathway to personal growth, academic confidence, and a culture of high expectations.

Values Certificates

At Stockport Academy, we proudly recognise students who consistently demonstrate our core values of Aspiration, Respect, and Community through the presentation of Value Certificates in every assembly. These awards celebrate pupils who go above and beyond not just in achievement, but in their character, attitude, and contribution to school life.

Nominated by Heads of Year and Form Tutors, recipients are acknowledged for living out our values in meaningful ways: showing resilience in learning, kindness in relationships, leadership in teams, and pride in their community. These moments of recognition reinforce our commitment to the Future Me character development framework, helping students understand that who they are is just as important as what they achieve.

By celebrating character in action, we inspire all pupils to strive for excellence, treat others with respect, and contribute positively to the world around them every day, in every lesson, and in every interaction.

What is the Student Rewards Charter?
At Stockport Academy we have a student rewards charter to reward students who consistently maintain the high standards we desire.

This charter runs each term and resets at the beginning of the next term. Students have 3 separate chances to meet the charter and any student who hits Gold on all three terms gains an additional 'Triple Gold' reward trip; therefore winning 4 free reward trips in total.

In KS3, the charter consists of 6 areas. Students need to achieve all criteria in the column to be able to achieve either Gold, Silver or Bronze. For example, if a student has 5 silver and 1 gold, they will achieve Silver for that term.

Rewards
  • If a student meets all of the Gold criteria, they will be rewarded with an external trip (free of charge), a certificate and a badge.
  • If a student meets all of the Silver criteria, they will be rewarded with an internal reward activity (free of charge), a certificate and a badge.
  • If a student meets all of the bronze criteria, they will get a certificate and a badge.
