What is school to school collaboration?
School to school collaboration is important to us at Stockport Academy. We work throughout the year with schools both inside and outside United Learning in sharing excellence and good practice in order to ensure best learning experiences and progress for all students in areas across the curriculum.
Stockport Academy has been involved in sharing excellence in areas including safeguarding, support of young carers, teaching and learning, leadership and student voice. We have found that this has been beneficial in that sharing ideas and systems has also enabled us to learn from others.
Working with primary schools
We are delighted to have strong relationships with our primary schools. We work tirelessly to ensure students are familiar with our school and we know them as individuals before they join our community. The academy holds many sports events throughout the year with our primary schools and academy sports leaders including dodgeball, football and golf. This is in addition to events including celebrations, sports days and our annual Christmas nursery party in recognition of the support that our primary schools offer our health and social care students in Year 10 and 11.
Our staff work closely with staff from our primary schools to support students prior to transition. We collaborate with Year 6 teachers to ensure we have the best possible understanding of students' starting points on entry into Year 7, particularly in Maths and English so that we can build on their achievements so far and add the most value.
We look forward to working further with all members of our learning communities to bring out the best in everyone. Click here to download and read the collaboration agreement we work towards with Alexandra Park Primary School.
