The evening gave Year 6 students and their families the opportunity to explore the academy, meet our staff and students, and discover what life at Stockport Academy has to offer.
Throughout the evening, families were free to explore the academy, with our student leaders on hand to lead tours and share their own experiences of school life.
There was plenty to see and get involved with throughout the evening, including:
- Presentations from our Principal, Mrs McCann
- Exciting Science experiments and a live dissection
- Languages games and challenges
- Creative arts and crafts in our Art & Design department
- A performance from our upcoming production of Moana
- Archery with our Duke of Edinburgh team
- Interactive demonstrations led by our students
- Opportunities to discover our House system and wider academy life
- Showcase of our co-curricular programme, rewards and the many opportunities available to students beyond the classroom.
Mrs McCann said: “It is always a pleasure to open our doors and welcome so many prospective students and their families to Stockport Academy. Open Evening is a fantastic opportunity for families to experience our school community for themselves, meet our students and staff and see the opportunities available here”.
A huge thank you goes to all the students and staff who helped make the evening such a success, and to every family who took the time to visit us.
If you missed the opportunity to visit us for Open Evening, you still have the chance to find out more ahead of the 31st October application deadline by booking on a personal tour of the school. If you would like to do this, please leave your details with us via this online form.
