There was a dramatic finish to the school year as Lhotse were crowned Stockport Academy’s 2025–26 House Champions.

The winners were announced following the final tally of points, with Lhotse securing an impressive 34,391 points to lift the House Cup. Makalu finished in second place with 33,932 points, followed by Annapurna on 31,861 points and Sagarmatha on 31,685 points.

The result marks the end of another fantastic year for the House System, with students across the school embracing every opportunity to represent their house and make a positive contribution to school life.

Throughout the year, students took part in an incredible variety of competitions and challenges, including creative writing, photography, reading competitions, sporting events, talent shows and seasonal activities such as the popular Egg Recreation Competition. Students also brought creativity and enthusiasm to unique events such as the Teach the Teachers competition, which proved to be one of many highlights of the year.

The House System continues to play an important role in bringing students together, encouraging healthy competition, teamwork and school pride.

Mr Allan, Master of Ceremonies and Games Master for the House System, said: “Congratulations to Lhotse on winning the 2025–26 House Cup. To finish with more than 34,000 points is an incredible achievement and reflects the commitment shown by students throughout the year.

"Every house should be proud of what they have achieved, particularly the way students have represented their houses in competitions and school life. It has been fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and house spirit across the academy.”

Congratulations to Lhotse on becoming House Cup champions, and to every student who contributed to another memorable year of competition. Attention now turns to next year’s challenges and the arrival of ‘The Arbiter’, which promises an exciting new chapter in the House System story.
