Commenting on the day, Janine McCann, Principal at Stockport Academy, said:
“I am extremely pleased and proud of all our students this morning who have done so well. It is always a pleasure as a Head to see students open their results and get the external validation they deserve for their hard work and commitment. All of us as staff enjoy sharing the students’ excitement and pleasure at their results.
“It’s a very important day for each student as these results set them on course for the next stage of their lives and education. But it’s an equally important day for us as a school because it demonstrates our trajectory of improvement and the positivity across the school.
“It’s always a team effort to achieve GCSE success and behind every student celebrating today are family, friends and staff across the Academy who have all played their part in encouraging their learning, preparation and ultimate success. A huge thank you and congratulations to them all”
