Y11 Art Residential Showcases Creativity and Commitment

Our Year 11 GCSE Art, Textiles, and 3D Sculpture students recently embarked on an unforgettable residential in Conway, designed to spark creativity and strengthen character.

This inspiring experience gave pupils the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in their craft while building resilience and confidence.

The programme featured a series of hands-on workshops led by professional artists, allowing students to expand their technical skills and develop an impressive portfolio of work. Each session was carefully aligned with GCSE coursework objectives, ensuring that pupils could refine and elevate their projects while embracing new creative challenges.

Beyond the studio, students enjoyed well-deserved downtime, from gathering around a campfire to toast s’mores to sharing laughter at a child-friendly Bongos Bingo party. These moments of fun and connection helped foster a strong sense of community and collaboration among the group.

Ms Higgins, Head of Art and Design, praised the students’ commitment and attitude throughout the trip:“This residential was an incredibly enriching experience for our GCSE students. It gave them the space and focus to refine their coursework while exploring new ideas in a supportive environment. Their dedication to the subject and excellent attitude were evident in every session, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they achieved.”
