The day is designed to help students settle in ahead of joining us in Y7, giving them a chance to meet their new classmates and Form Tutors, explore the school building, and experience some of the subjects and spaces they’ll be using from September.
Activities ran across the school, with pupils enjoying a packed timetable of lessons and team-building sessions. In Science, students learned how to safely operate Bunsen burners for the first time, while in the Library, a fast-paced book hunt helped them get to grips with our wide range of reading resources.
Elsewhere, students got active with a range of multi-sports games, and they even had the chance to try their hand at archery.
The day not only introduced pupils to their new surroundings, but also gave them the chance to begin building new friendships and becoming part of our school community.
Transition Lead Ms Foster said:
“I’m so proud of how well our new students adapted to their new environment – they were enthusiastic, polite and a credit to their primary schools. We can’t wait to welcome many of them back for our Summer School from 11th–14th August, and then officially in September!”
