Records Tumble Again For Stockport Academy Sports Day

There was plenty to celebrate at our annual Sports Day, which was held on the second to last day of term.
Students spent the day competing on behalf of their form groups in a variety of track and field events ranging from the discus and javelin to the three-legged race and relay.
It was certainly an event to remember, with no fewer than a dozen new school records being set throughout the day – making it one of our most successful Sports Days ever.
Head of PE Mr McGahey said: “We had a brilliant day and it was great to see students pushing themselves to do their best on the sports field.
“Well done to all of our competitors and also to the students who came out to cheer on their classmates in the afternoon. The atmosphere was superb and highlighted the strong community we have here at Stockport Academy.”
