Stockport Academy Students Show The Love With Manchester United Foundation

A group of our students took part in a special virtual event to raise awareness of the impact of Covid-19 on the environment.

The Year 7s and 8s spent several hours participating in the online ‘Show The Love’ workshop, which was hosted by Manchester United Foundation in collaboration with the Climate Coalition.

They were joined by over 100 other delegates and spent their time focusing on how the pandemic has affected the eco-system, particularly in other countries.

During the event, students even received a special message from Manchester United legend Denis Irwin, who recorded a video calling on everyone to work together to tackle the climate crisis.

Head of Year 8 Mrs McNulty, who also runs the school’s Eco Club, said: “We’ve had a brilliant time today learning all about the changes we can make to protect our planet for future generations. I would like to thank everyone at MUF and the Climate Coalition for inviting us and giving our students the opportunity to find out more about this issue, which has never been more important.”
