OFSTED SCHOOL INSPECTION - MARCH 5TH AND 6TH

We are undergoing an Ofsted inspection on March 5th and 6th. As part of this, Ofsted would like to know what parents think about the school. Please take a few minutes to read the below letter and leaflet, and complete Ofsted's online survey - Parent View - preferably before 11.00am on March 5th.

If you are unable to complete the online survey, it may be possible to speak to, or pass on a message to, an inspector during the inspection.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Stockport Academy believes in providing an outstanding education for its students through a relentless pursuit of academic excellence. We also instill in our students the need to create an atmosphere of fairness in which individual dignity is upheld and respected and we nurture our young people to be unashamed about promoting values, as well as encouraging them to have the very highest educational aspirations.

The academy is sponsored by United Learning – a group of schools which aims to provide excellent education to children and young people across the country. As a United Learning academy, we seek to improve the life chances of all the children and young people we serve and make it our mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ – students, staff, parents and the wider community.  Uniquely, United Learning includes significant numbers of schools in both the public and the private sectors, working together for mutual benefit.

At Stockport Academy, we provide a broad education which prepares young people to progress in learning and to make a success of their lives. We focus sharply on the evidence of what makes it more likely that young people will progress and succeed and make it a priority to provide teachers with professional support and development, so that every child receives an excellent experience.

In recent years we have made huge strides on our journey to becoming an outstanding school. In our modern building with its excellent facilities, we are focused on creating an environment that inspires students each day to take those extra steps that will equip them with the skills to become lifelong learners and valuable members of their local, national and global communities.

We are confident that our commitment to high quality teaching and learning will continue to raise standards at Stockport Academy and we have high aspirations for all our students. Whether you are a parent looking for an excellent school for your child, a teacher looking to progress your career or governors of a school looking to work closely with others, I hope that what you read here encourages you to find out more about our academy.
