Art

The Art department at Stockport Academy can be found on the second floor in a purpose built open plan Art area.  The area is equipped with an ICT suite, Ceramics area with Kiln and Textiles facilities.  The department takes pride in the achievements of all our students and student work is displayed all around the art area.

Work is set based on themes, usually set around the work of a famous artist or designer and we also look at the work of artists from other cultures.  We give the students the opportunity to explore ideas and develop these using various materials and techniques.

Art is delivered by very experienced teachers across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.  We also offer the following Enrichment activities after school; Jewellery making, Decorative fabrics, Ceramics and Costume & Make-up.
