Hosted at Edgeley Park, the event brought a sense of occasion from the moment students arrived, dressed in their finest for a sit-down meal with friends and staff. The evening provided a chance to reflect on dedication, progress and standout achievements across both departments.
A highlight of the night was hearing from guest speaker Antony Cotterill, a Paralympic table tennis athlete who has represented Great Britain on the world stage. Antony shared his journey into elite sport, speaking openly about resilience, setbacks and the determination required to succeed at the highest level. His message about perseverance and self-belief resonated strongly with students.
The evening also celebrated key moments from across the year, including the school’s sell-out production of Fame Jnr, which showcased the incredible talent, teamwork and commitment of our performing arts students. Awards were presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional effort, skill and progress, as well as those who have contributed positively to teams and productions.
Mr McGahey, Head of PE, said: “These awards recognise not just achievement, but the effort and mindset behind it. Our students continue to show real aspiration in everything they do, pushing themselves to improve and supporting one another to succeed.”
After the formal presentations, the celebrations continued with a lively disco and photo booth, giving students the chance to enjoy the evening together and mark their achievements in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
