Public Transport to School

Click here to find out more about recent changes to how students can purchase the Stagecoach EasyRider ticket.

Stockport Academy is accessible by local bus routes - please see further details below.  For students travelling from outside Stockport there are some direct bus routes from the South Manchester area and most buses stop in Stockport Town Centre where a connecting bus to Edgeley Road (2 min walk from the Academy) can be taken.

IGO Cards

Children who travel by bus are required to have igo cards from the age of 11 to 16 to enable them to travel for the current concessionary fare, which is half fare. The card expires on 31 August after the child’s 16th birthday. Bus Operators may charge a higher fare if children do not have an igo pass.  An application form for the igo pass can be downloaded from the TfGM website.

.An IGO card costs £10 and lasts until 31st August after your 16th birthday. The card allows 11-16 year olds to travel using child tickets on buses and trams in Greater Manchester.
