Stockport Academy is accessible by local bus routes and a school bus (service 900) which serves the areas of Bridge Hall and Adswood. For students travelling from outside Stockport there are some direct bus routes from the South Manchester area and most buses stop in Stockport Town Centre where a connecting bus to Edgeley Road (2 min walk from the Academy) can be taken.
Children who travel by bus are required to have igo cards from the age of 11 to 16 to enable them to travel for the current concessionary fare, which is half fare. The card expires on 31 August after the child’s 16th birthday. Bus Operators may charge a higher fare if children do not have an igo pass. An application form for the igo pass can be downloaded from the TfGM website.
