‘Superb’ Stockport Academy Students Receive GCSE Grades

Stockport Academy Year 11 students celebrated picking up their GCSE grades this morning.

With the wait finally over, students patiently waited to collect their qualifications in the Sports Hall, before sharing their news with family and friends.

Many are now planning to continue their studies in Further Education and were excited to receive the grades they needed to move on to colleges including Aquinas, Xaverian, Stockport College and Marple College.

Our Head Girl Evie was among those celebrating and she will be going on to Xaverian College to study Spanish, among other subjects.

Tom has a double celebration on the cards after not only getting into Aquinas to study Computing and Business, but also turning 16 today.

Throughout the morning, staff were on hand to offer advice and congratulate students, before wishing them well for the future.

Stockport Academy Principal Mrs McCann said: “I would like to thank all of our Year 11s for five superb years and the phenomenal contribution they have made to our school inside and outside the classroom.

“You have demonstrated exceptional resilience throughout this time and particularly over the last few months and it has been brilliant to get the chance to see you once again as you embark on new beginnings with exciting futures ahead of you.”
