The local community join staff and students to clean up well used public footpath...
On Friday 12th September staff and students were joined by members of the public to clear weeds and rubbish from a local public footpath. The footpath between Sherbourne Road and Carrs Road in Cheadle Heath is well used by school children, dog walkers and other members of the public. In recent times it had become a place for tipping and needed a good clean-up.
Thank you to Edgeley Skip Hire for providing a skip and to Tesco Express who provided refreshments for the volunteers and also to Poppies Garden Maintenance who came armed with equipment for cutting back brambles. We are also grateful for the support of local counsellors who are helping us to petition the local council to provide lighting so that it is safer in the evenings.
It was a great afternoon and over 20 bags of rubbish and rubble was removed.
Thank you to everyone who joined in to support us for this worthwhile community event.
