Students Shine at Annual Prize Giving Evening…

Our annual Prize Giving Evening again took place in the majestic surroundings of the Stockport Town Hall Ballroom on Thursday 3rd July.

We were delighted to welcome our guest speaker, Mark Allen, Head of Manchester City FC Football Academy who handed out trophies and gave an inspirational speech at the end of the evening.

Our Prize Giving evening comes at the end of another fantastic year for the Academy.  The atmosphere in the Town Hall was magical and not a pin could be heard as our school choir opened the evening with stunning performances of ‘Sing’ and ‘Love Can Build a Bridge’.  Our steel band enrichment club also provided a fantastic musical interlude as parents and guests entered the Ballroom at the start of the evening.

Over 230 awards were given out to students for Effort, Attainment, Attendance, Platinum Merits, Sixth Form Awards, Sports Awards and Special Awards and we we were delighted to hand over fundraising cheques totalling £5,000 to charities EducAid, The Christie and Macmillan.
