Stockport Academy Christmas Carol concert raises the roof!
This year's Christmas Carol concert saw our choir of 60 students supported by our rocking steel pan bands and our volunteer brass band raising the roof with Christmas cheer.
The night was made up of two halves; the first a thought provoking and traditional selection of songs and readings culminating in the lighting of the advent calendars, the second a fabulous combination of soloists, duets and groups with adaptations of popular songs for all ages.
Arrangements for the evening were led by two of our 6th form students, Sophie Drabble and Isaak Heggs who, as part of their BTEC L3 diploma in Music, have to set up and run a major musical event. We think they passed with flying colours!
Said Rachel Dines, Head of Music, "I was delighted with all our students. It is very hard to stand up in front of an audience and perform and all our performers should be proud of their contribution to a lovely evening. Well done!"
