Our proud students attended this formal event at Leeds United's banqueting suite to receive their anti-bullying awards.
The Diana Award is presented to inspirational or socially active young people who have made a positive difference to the lives of others and their communities. On 9th December 15 of our Year 11 students attended the Diana Awards Ceremony at Leeds United to receive their award for their Anti-Bullying efforts within the Academy. The students joined a host of other young people who had given up their time to support others across different categories within the Award. One of the award winners, Shauna Eastham, has summarised her experience below, which was mirrored by all in attendance.
"I had such an amazing day at the 'celebrate young heroes' event, at which I received my Princess Diana Anti-bullying award. There were activities, presentations, videos, performances and much more going on during the day. Not only was it a wonderful day but I now have something very special and notable to keep with me throughout my life. We all felt extremely privileged to be there and to receive this greatly respected award. It was also delightful to meet other young people who have done astounding things to get them their award too. The feeling was unexplainable and the whole group of us are very proud."
