All the hard work finally paid off for Stockport Academy’s sixth formers today, as they picked up their A Level results.
Anxious faces could be seen entering the building when the doors opened at 8am – however, the atmosphere soon became buzzing as it became clear this year’s results have been the best we’ve ever seen.
With an overall pass rate of 98%, average grades improved over the last year for the third time in a row. Furthermore, every single student who applied for a place at one of the prestigious Russell Group universities was accepted on the course of their choice.
Principal Mr McCarron said: “Congratulations to all of our Sixth Form students collecting their results today. Everyone at the academy has worked incredibly hard and I am proud that so many of our students have exceeded targets through their focus and determination.”
Of course, next week it will be the turn of our Year 11s who will be picking up their GCSE results, where the emotions will once again be running high!
Our Sixth Form open evening takes place on October 15th between 5-8pm.
