A number of Stockport Academy students have started the new school year by achieving an extremely impressive sporting qualification.
In total, 13 of our girls have been given their Level 1 Sports Leaders UK award, which involved them taking both practical and theory elements of the course over the year.
They had to participate in various practical tasks and lead different groups to develop their leadership skills and build their confidence.
This saw them helping out with primary school events being held at the academy, as well as sports team fixtures, before finally passing an hour-long assessment.
PE Teacher Ms Rae said: “I’m incredibly proud of all the girls to achieve this award and it is a fantastic recognition of the hard work they’ve put in.
“These students are an asset to Stockport Academy and I can’t wait for them to be presented with their certificates.”
Congratulations to the following students: Kiah Bernhard, Paige Bowden, Elisha Boycott, Kasey Donnelly, Laura Drabble, Rebekah Etchells, Luanne McCracken, Fern McEwan, Charlotte Redmond, Chantelle Smith Rachel Smith, Micki Towers and Leah Waters.
