Our Y13 Drama students found out exactly what it was like running their own theatre company during a recent visit to a fringe theatre in Liverpool.
The group spent the day at the Lantern Theatre, where they spoke to the marketing manager and artistic director about the challenges and logistics of managing the business.
They were then set the task of planning their own theatre tour, taking into consideration things like budget and marketing.
During lunch, students even got the opportunity to sample some of the sights of Liverpool, visting the Albert Dock and the Liverpool One shopping district.
Drama teacher Mr McCarthy said: “The day was incredibly useful to the students, who have to plan a similar exercise as part of their coursework this year. I’d like to thank the Lantern Theatre for welcoming us and giving us valuable insight into how to operate a successful business in the Arts.”
