It’s been a busy two weeks for Y8 Stockport Academy student Lydia Hester, who has won an impressive five dance trophies from just two competitions.
Firstly, she competed in a Ballet/Tap and Modern/Lyrical competition in Wythenshawe for Performer of the Year and progressed through all heats to the finals, coming away with two trophies in the process.
The following week, she travelled to Blackpool to take part in the UK Street Dance Competition. She came 2nd in the solos and 3rd in the duos, while she won her group competition for the Age 12-15 category.
It was only the second time her group had competed in Blackpool, so it’s even more amazing they were so successful!
Dance teacher Mrs Hacking said: “It’s great that we have students like Lydia who take part in sport and dance outside of school at such a high level. Everyone is incredibly proud of her.”
Well done Lydia!
