Stockport Academy Film Club student heading to the red carpet

One of our Film Club enrichment members will have the opportunity to interview some of the industry’s biggest names after being accepted onto the prestigious Young Reporters programme.

Year 7 student Evie Griffiths spent the first weekend of half term in London being interviewed for the role, after going up against others from all over the country to be one of 35 people to work on the scheme.

As part of her new role, Evie will get to quiz top film talent at red carpet premieres, receive media training in film journalism, attend film festivals, record vlogs and write reports and reviews that will be published by Into Film.

Evie travelled down to the capital along with two other Stockport Academy students – Sam Rogers and Harry Cox – who had also been shortlisted to take part in the recruitment day.

Ms Nakielska, who runs Stockport Academy’s Film Club, said: “I’m just so proud of all three of our students who were selected for the interview stage of the Young Reporters programme and am so so happy for Evie.

“She has an amazing opportunity ahead of her and I can’t wait to hear what she’ll be getting up to. It’s the sort of chance that many people can only dream of and I know she’s going to do an amazing job.”

Film Club enrichment takes place every Monday and Tuesday in the lecture theatre between 2.40pm and 3.30pm.
