The level of support Stockport Academy offers students in CEIAG (Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) has been recognised by a prestigious awards body.
We have now reached Stage 2 of the Inspiring IAG Award, after originally reaching Stage 1 back in January.
Assessors were impressed with the school’s commitment to CEIAG at senior leadership level and praised Careers Coordinator Mr Cheetham as being “highly organised and forward-thinking”.
They also commented on the “well rounded” programme of CEIAG throughout the school, which recognises the value of students’ personal development.
Mr Cheetham said: “I am over the moon that we have been awarded Stage 2 of Inspiring IAG and work is already in place to ensure that it won’t be long before we reach Stage 3.
“We are dedicated to ensuring our students are able to make well informed, realistic career decisions about their future, and this will continue with our IAG Day and HE Fair later this month.”
IAG Day takes place on 18th November and will include workshops focusing on study skills, goal setting and career progression. The accompanying careers fair will enable students to speak to staff from local colleges, universities, apprenticeship academies and employers.
