Year 7 Students Excel During Kingswood Residential

Over the course of three exhilarating days, over 100 eager Year 7 students embarked on an unforgettable residential trip to Kingswood in North Wales.

Over the course of three exhilarating days, more than 100 eager Year 7 students embarked on an unforgettable residential trip to Kingswood. Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of North Wales, the journey was filled with excitement and camaraderie as students delved into an array of thrilling activities.

From conquering the heights of Jacobs Ladder to navigating through the intricate challenges of low ropes, students embraced the spirit of adventure and teamwork. Each activity, meticulously designed to foster teamwork, problem-solving skills and resilience, provided a platform for students to push their boundaries and discover their inner strengths.

The wilderness became their classroom as students engaged in bushcraft shelter building, learning essential survival skills while fostering a deep appreciation for nature. Creativity and ingenuity took center stage during the Buggy Build and Scrapheap Challenge, where students showcased their ability to innovate and collaborate under pressure.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the evening came alive with the crackling warmth of a campfire. Gathered around the flickering flames, students shared stories, laughter, and toasted marshmallows, forging bonds that will last a lifetime.

Transition Lead Ms Foster, who organised the visit, said: "We had a fantastic few days and it was so rewarding to see students grow in confidence throughout the trip. Kingswood has become a rite of passage over the last few years and once again this year did not disappoint."
