Manchester United Donation Scores Vital Supplies For Students
/ Categories: News
Dozen of students at Stockport Academy and their families are set to receive £10,000 of food parcels following a donation from the Manchester United Foundation.
Our staff, along with workers from the charity, have been delivering the packages around the local community following the official launch of a new partnership, which will also see Foundation staff work directly with students over the next academic year.
A total of 35 families will receive regular deliveries as a result of the grant.
Principal Mrs McCann said: "We are very grateful to the Manchester United Foundation for their generous donation to support those in need within our community. We are immensely proud of the way our students and their families have coped with the challenges of lockdown. Their resilience and dedication to continue their studies in the most unusual of circumstances is an excellent example of Education with Character.
“These deliveries will make such a difference to them during these difficult times. We will be continuing this support over the course of the term thanks to the grant, the impact of which cannot be overstated.
“We look forward to developing the partnership between Stockport Academy and the Manchester United Foundation for many years to come."
John Shiels, CEO of the Manchester United Foundation said: “We really value the relationship we have with our schools, and in the spirit of true partnerships, we are delighted to be able to offer support to those families who are most in need right now. Our coaches usually work with these children day-in-day-out and this way we are able to still make a difference and give them a sense of hope at this difficult time.”
